About our Destination

The Valley of Flowers, at an altitude of over 14,400 feet, is one of nature’s many awe-inspiring creations. It is around 30 kilometres ahead of Joshimath in Uttarakhand and is part of the Great Himalayas. The beauty of this region is such that it looks straight out of a fairytale. When mountaineer Frank Smythe first identified the region back in 1932, he was urged to write a book on it. He called it the ‘Valley of Flowers’, and that is what it is known as, ever since. While it is a national park known for a wide range of alpine flora unique to the region, it is not just another destination to arrive at. Its beauty lies in the journey through the verdant meadows and freshwater streams best explored on a trek. Mid July to mid August is the best time to witness most of the flowers in full bloom. Let us Escape to the Valley of Flowers! (Please note: this trip spans over a period of 6 Nights 7 Days since it includes a road trip and a trek and back. This gives us enough time to do both without exerting ourselves too much. This trip also involves camping, for which sleeping bags and camping tents will be provided by Escape Route). Let us Escape to the Valley of Flowers!
Day 01

Delhi – Rishikesh – 240 kms

We hit the road for the first leg of our journey from Delhi to Rishikesh, this early Saturday morning | Overnight at Rishikesh
Day 02

Rishikesh – Govind Ghat – 270 kms

After a restful first night at Rishikesh, we start early to continue our journey and reach Govind Ghat by the evening | We call it an early night at Govind Ghat and catch enough rest to begin the trek next day
Day 03

Govind Ghat – Ghangaria – 14 kms

This day, we embark on a 14-kilometre not-so-difficult trek beginning from Govind Ghat (5,500 feet) to Ghangaria (10,500 feet). This is the base to the Valley of Flowers. The best time to visit the Valley of Flowers is monsoon, we suggest you carry a raincoat and slip-proof trekking shoes | Spend the night camping in the lap of mountains
Day 04

Ghangaria – Valley of Flowers – 4 kms

The morning begins with a picturesque view and a hearty breakfast. Today, we hike another 4 kilometres to witness the valley of flowers in all its glory. This is a steep climb but thankfully we will be walking through hundreds of exclusive alpine flowers along the way. Once at the sight, we take in the view and absorb the essence of the valley's beauty | Back at Ghangaria by the night
Day 05

Ghangaria – Hemkund – 6 kms

Trek to this point of great reverence and serenity where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have meditated for years before he attained salvation. This is a scenic but a slightly difficult hike that leads you to the Hemkund Lake and Gurdwara. The lake is popular as the habitat of the unique Brahma Kamal, which is also the national flower of Uttarakhand. From here, you get beautiful views of snow-capped peaks| Spend the night camping at the spot of our choice
Day 06

Ghangaria – Govind Ghat (14 kms) – Joshimath (20 kms)

Descend to the trek's starting point and put your feet to rest as we conclude trekking. We drive for about an hour to reach Joshimath | A restful night at a homestay near Joshimath
